The Radiant Healer of Worlds

This exquisite statue embodies the profound compassion and healing power of the Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru. In Buddhist tradition, the Medicine Buddha is revered as the master of healing arts and the dispeller of physical and mental suffering. He is depicted here in his celestial abode, seated in a meditative posture, radiating an aura of serene wisdom and boundless benevolence. The intricate details of this piece speak to the deep spiritual significance it holds, serving as a focal point for meditation, prayer, and the cultivation of inner peace. The Medicine Buddha is a central figure in Mahayana Buddhism, particularly in the Eastern regions. According to legend, he made twelve great vows to deliver sentient beings from various ailments and sufferings. These vows include promises to cure blindness, deafness, and deformities, to liberate beings from the cycle of rebirth and suffering, and to guide them towards enlightenment. He is often depicted with a blue jewel-like hue, symbolizing the transformation of negative emotions into wisdom. In his left hand, he holds a bowl containing the nectar of immortality and the Arura fruit, a potent medicinal herb, signifying his ability to heal all diseases. ––––––––––

An Emblem of Craftsmanship and Devotion

Crafted from high-quality brass and adorned with vibrant inlays, this statue is a testament to the artistry and dedication of Indian artisans. The metallic sheen of the brass provides a noble base, while the meticulously placed inlay work in striking blue, red, and green hues brings the deity to life. The ornate halo behind the Buddha, resembling a radiant sunburst, symbolizes his enlightened consciousness and the brilliance of his teachings. Each element, from the gentle smile on his face to the subtle folds of his monastic robe, is rendered with remarkable precision, reflecting a deep understanding of Buddhist iconography. The base upon which the Medicine Buddha is enthroned is equally elaborate, featuring decorative carvings and further inlaid patterns that enhance the overall aesthetic grandeur. This is not merely an object of decor; it is a sacred representation, imbued with spiritual energy and cultural heritage. ––––––––––

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
