This Temple Flagstaff, also known as Kodimaram Dwajastambham, is an important part of all Hindu temples. Dwajasthambam is a long pillar-like structure that has three horizontal perches on top. These perches face the Garbhagriha and are equipped with little bells that generate delightful noises when the wind blows. Mekhala or Mekalai refers to these three interwoven horizontal perches. Sthapati's are specialized persons who set the height of the Kodimaram. After that, the carving and traditional motifs are applied to the Kidimaram. The Dhwajastambham's base material might be wood, brass, or copper. The hardwood Dwajasthambham can be painted with sheets of brass, copper, pure silver, or pure gold. They are revered and handled with respect.

An Emblem of Divine Radiance and Sacred Tradition

Infuse your sacred space with an aura of profound spirituality and timeless tradition with this exquisite 22-inch Temple Flagstaff, a true testament to artisanal mastery. Crafted from pure brass, this flagstaff, also known as a Kodimaram, is not merely an object of decoration, but a vessel of devotion and a symbol of victory for deities and devotees alike. Its presence evokes the grandeur of ancient temples and the serene ambiance of spiritual rituals, making it an ideal addition to any altar, puja room, or meditation space. The design itself speaks of deep cultural significance. In Hindu mythology, the flagstaff is often associated with the divine banner hoisted during important festivals and processions, signifying the triumph of good over evil. It is said that the flag hoisted atop the Kodimaram is blessed by the presiding deity, and its unfurling announces auspicious beginnings and divine blessings to all who witness it. The intricate, multi-tiered structure at the top of this flagstaff, reminiscent of temple Gopurams, is designed to hold numerous lamps, which, when lit, create a breathtaking spectacle of light and devotion, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and ignorance by divine wisdom. ––––––––––

Handcrafted Heritage, Enduring Brilliance

Each flagstaff is meticulously handcrafted in India, a land renowned for its rich heritage of metalwork and spiritual artistry. The skilled hands of artisans have shaped the lustrous brass into a piece that is both aesthetically captivating and deeply meaningful. The inherent properties of brass, known for its durability and ability to retain its shine, ensure that this flagstaff will remain a cherished centerpiece for generations to come, its golden sheen deepening with age and care, much like the wisdom gained through spiritual practice. The segmented, ribbed design of the central pillar adds a unique textural appeal and hints at the cyclical nature of existence, a fundamental concept in many Eastern philosophies. This temple flagstaff serves as a powerful reminder of the eternal presence of the divine. Its radiant glow, when illuminated, can transform any environment into a sanctuary of peace and contemplation. Whether used in daily prayers, special ceremonies, or simply as a symbol of your spiritual aspirations, this brass flagstaff is more than an object; it is a conduit for devotion, a beacon of light, and an heirloom that carries with it the blessings of its makers and the sanctity of its purpose. Bring home this piece of living heritage and let its divine radiance illuminate your path.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
