Ganesha: The Remover of Obstacles

In Hindu mythology, Ganesha, also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, holds a prominent position as the god of beginnings, wisdom, and prosperity. Revered before any major undertaking, he is invoked to remove obstacles and ensure success. His image is frequently found at the entrances of temples, homes, and businesses, signifying his role as a guardian and protector. This beautifully crafted sculpture brings the blessings and auspicious presence of Ganesha into your personal space. The story of Ganesha's birth is as unique as his form. The most popular version recounts that Parvati, the consort of Shiva, created Ganesha from the sandalwood paste she used for bathing. She instructed him to guard the entrance of her abode while she bathed. When Shiva returned, Ganesha, not recognizing him, prevented him from entering. Enraged, Shiva severed Ganesha's head. Parvati was distraught, and Shiva, filled with remorse, promised to revive their son. He instructed his followers to bring the head of the first creature they encountered facing north. They returned with the head of an elephant, which Shiva placed upon Ganesha's body, thus bringing him back to life.
