Nagas have been rightfully recognized in Hinduism as sacred guardians of the Patala Loka. Coming from the lineage of Rishi Kashyap (one of the Saptarishis), Nagas are bestowed with divine powers and are ferocious shape-shifting species when they have to be. This bronze statue is that of Panchamukhi Shesha (Five-headed throne of Lord Vishnu) adorned with crowns - coiled into three layers, the open hoods represent attentiveness and security. The circular pattern demands focus, based on the principle of transformation which Nagas are often associated with.
