Vyasa, the sage who composed the Mahabharata, needed someone capable of writing down his verses at the same pace at which he recited them. Ganesha agreed to undertake the task, but on the condition that Vyasa never pause in his narration. Vyasa, in turn, stipulated that Ganesha had to understand the meaning of each verse before writing it down. This remarkable collaboration resulted in the creation of one of the world's most extensive and profound literary works.
