Wall-Hanging Lord Ganesha Nestled In Star-Shaped Leaf

$50
A charming Lord Ganesha sits nestled up against a star-shaped bit of leaf. The stance of His legs resemble that of a seated child, conch and weapon and - of course - the laddoo in three of His four hands. He is chaturbhujadhari (four-armed) Lord Ganesha, the anterior right of which He raises in blessing. Indeed the baala-deity (‘baala’ is Sanskrt for child) is widely revered for His propensity to mete out blessings and boons to the ones truly devoted.

In this wall-mounted composition, the son of Shiva-Parvati is curled up in the bed of a six-spiked star-shaped leaf. Zoom in on each of the spikes to note the curvaceous silhouette given to each of them, and the pronounced veinage on the same. There is a beauty and a symmetry to the unusual aureole of Lord Ganesha. The haloed, crowned, and long-trunked Lord sits therein. From the serrations on His trunk to the detail of His attire and adornments, He has been sculpted with remarkable attention to iconographic detail.
