When I went through the booklet- 'A note on the term Bishnupriya Manipuri'- written by Dr. Kaliprasad Sinha M.A., Ph.D published by Sri Mani Kanta Sinha, President, Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Silchar Branch, I was simply wonder struck to see how the President, Silchar, could condemn the Bishnupriya Manipuri Community itself by publishing this booklet in the name of the Sahitya Parishad. Now going through the booklet 'comments on A note on the term Bishnupriya Manipuri' written by Sri Jagat Mohan Singha, President, Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Silchar, it is clear that a mischief was attempted by getting the booklet published in the name of Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad to give it an authoritative colour without proper authority of the Central Organisation.
The President of the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad by his comments on the booklet of Dr. Sinha, has ably removed all doubts regarding Bishnupriya Manipuris.
The chapter on the details of phonetics of the Bishnupriya Manipuri language dealt with by Prof. Birendra Singha is really a valuable research on our language.
The present book has been written with much confidence and earnestness to heal up the wounds so far done to the status, culture and traditions of the Bishnupriya Manipuris by a ceaseless publicity in booklets and newspapers here and there from an ill motivated corner. We are aware enough of the consequences of such irresponsible talks and do believe that the attempt of creating a dark epoch to envelope all truths about the Bishnupriya Manipuris is a most temporary phase and the present publication will ensure the wise readers' ability to remove all doubts and misconceptions created in their mind by unduly interested persons about us, by a kind and thorough perusal of its contents. We are Manipuris by birth, tradition, spirit and culture and firmly believe that any level of prudence will not disturb this equilibrium of ours if wisdom lives in human mind with a touch-me-not sanctity and beauty.
There have been natural mistakes and errors for difficulties of hurried printing of the book for which the learned readers will very kindly excuse the humble self.
