Note
This book contains translations of five original Bengali compositions of Sri Aurobindo that were first published in journals at different times. Four of these texts, along with another, a piece called Durga-Stotra, were subsequently collected and published as a booklet entitled Jagannather Rath, "The Chariot of Jagannatha". We have excluded the Stotra from this book and included in its place a translation of a piece originally published under the title Kshamar Adarsha O Sadhusanger Phal.
"The Chariot of Jagannatha" was first published under the title Samaj-Katha (On Society) in Prabartak in 1918. Arya Adarsha O Gunatraya (The Aryan Ideal and the Three Gunas) and Swapna (A Dream) in Suprabhat in 1909-10. Hirobumi Ito and Kshamar Adarsha (The Ideal of Forgiveness) first appeared in Dharma in 1909-10
