This is the fourth volume in the series of the Descriptive Catalogue of Orjya Manuscripts preserved in the Manuscripts Section of the Orissa State Museum. These Descriptive Catalogues apart from giving a description and account of the palmleaf manuscripts, serve as guides to the scholars working in the field of Oriya literature. Since these catal gues bring to lime light rare vorks, the importance of these publications are increasingly felt.
The present volume of Descriptive Catalogue of Oriya Manuscripts contains 258 manuscripts from Oriya alphabet "Da" to "na". The introduction of this catalogue deals with Panchasakha literature and Sakta literature. Panchsakha is D contro-versial subject in the history of Oriya literature and the present information wiil no doubt substantiate to the fact of their contribution to Oriya literature. The index with an Iphabetical list of authors added at the end will facilitate the scholors in their research.
