The tradition of our rşis and munis has been continuous on this earth since the beginning of creation. Our ancestors were great rsis, seers, scientists, philosophers and krantadarīs (far-sighted visionaries). Their living had the virtues of hardwork, simplicity, discipline and restrain. Their lives were full of sacrifices; they devoted themselves without any attachment in spreading the perennial knowledge and science, and surrendered themselves completely in the protection of Dharma, moral precepts and noble persons. They adopted austerity and with the spirit of universal well-being illuminated the path of fellow countrymen by propelling themselves on the path of great actions and by enriching their own speech.' (1. Yasyam pûrve bhütakrta rṣayo ga udänreuh Sapta satrena vedhaso yajñena tapasa saha (Atharvaveda-12.1.39))
Our ancestral rşi, munis, yogis, ācāryas, saints and tapasvis are torch-bearers of this grand old culture. The thoughts and experiences of the rșis have been providing motivation and guidance to humanity since the beginning of creation.
