Book Description
About The Book

Gita needs no introduction. The whole great Vedic civilization of Indians are known and related to the philosophy enumerated by this book. The sermon of Bhagwan Krishna to grief-stricken Arjun was told in the battlefield where two armies were standing to start the battle.

Since birth, every person starts his fight; one may call this as action or living. But it is a form of fight where we are not alone to live, to act; we are always with our opponent offering resistance to us. The battle might get over due to our abandoning the fight but the cause remains alive, kicking us in our brain, creating a violent environment converting us into a person with ever-agitating, complaining mind and intellect. The non-violence wrapped under the cowardice is more dangerous than the demonstrated violence.

Throughout the teachings of Gita we can notice the tone of universalism in suggesting self-elevation for all irrespective of caste, creed, and education-level of holy texts - Vedas and Upanishads. Teachings of Gita have broken all those misgivings of a common man. One can also practice meditation by learning the knowledge of truth and can identify SELF as different from the material body. Uniqueness in teachings of Gita is its direct approach to a common man. It suggests a direct relationship and communication between Man and God.

In Gita, Bhagwan Krishna dwells upon the wisdom about reality as well as a practical way of living day-to-day life and improving our SELF. While reading Gita we would learn Bhagwan Krishna discoursing on the most secret and sacred knowledge and now here we are learning the tips for our better behaviour and conduct.

I wish and pray for the readers a purposeful and happy life. Kindly accept my regards to read Gita for your all-round growth and self-elevation. With due respect and regards to all the schools of thought I would like to draw inference from their interpretations to make it purposeful and a learning experience. The objective of my writing this book is to start a thinking process amongst us the useful and relevant message to improve our day to day life with the blessings of Mother Gita.

Introduction

GITA NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION. The whole great Vedic civilization of Indians are known and related to the philosophy enumerated by this book. Gita is a part of the epic Mahabharat as written by Bhagwan Ved Vyas. It has been carved out of 'Bhishm Pary' by the scholars of philosophy and called a song (gita). A song sung in the battlefield of the divine truth by Bhagwan Krishna.

The sermon of Bhagwan Krishna to grief-stricken Arjun was told in the battlefield where two armies were standing to start the battle. The highlight of this battle was that Duryodhan opted for Bhagwan Krishna's army to fight from his side, whereas Arjun had just requested the presence of Bhagwan Krishna in his army even with the condition that Krishna wouldn't pick up the arms. So Bhagwan was there as Arjun's charioteer (parth- sarathi).

We may wonder; why this sermon of Gita was given on the battlefield and not delivered in any serene place like ashrams or temples where the satsangs are usually organized? One can utter so many great philosophies on how to tackle problems in life?' even if he ever encounters that problem or not. But here the sermon was told on the same ground in the same situation for which everybody talks and prepares for. Life is a battleground, battle for existence, battle for our rights, battle for our pride, battle for our ego, and battle to know which side we are in this fight.

Since birth, every person starts his fight; one may call this as action or living. But it is a form of fight where you are not alone to live, to act; you are always with your opponent offering resistance to you. The science calls this force as friction which makes you move forward, so do your life with this force of friction. Whatever you do rebounds with equal force against you. So this is a battleground; you are constantly in the company of your enemies, unseen and unheard; yet you have to find out, look out for them to save yourselves and also to counter their attacks.

The battle might get over due to our abandoning the fight but the cause remains alive, kicking us in our brain, creating a violent environment converting us into a person with ever- agitating, complaining mind and intellect. The non-violence wrapped under the cowardice is more dangerous than the demonstrated violence.

The Indian sub-continent has witnessed the most macabre carnage and beastly behaviours amongst its inhabitants during its outward show of non-violence but inwardly cowardice was enforcing discipline and fostering brotherhood for the sake of populist democracy. The situation has been changing from bad to worse as manifested in current affairs.

The story of Mahabharat is not any different; we all face similar situations in our life when someone from our close relatives denies our lawful rights or even envy us for our achievements. We have to fight out for our rightful cause but most of the time we face the dilemma of fighting face to face with those dear ones. In all such cases, we need Bhagwan Krishna to provide his divine counseling through Gita. So think: What can the wisdom of Gita do for us?

Throughout the teachings of Gita we can notice the tone of universalism in suggesting self-elevation for all irrespective of caste, creed, and education-level of holy texts - Vedas and Upanishads. Therefore the efforts of Bhagwan Krishna has been that of an all-time great statesman who has provided the paths of salvation to the whole mankind which has hitherto been kept secret and coded for the benefits of a few who could hold the wisdom to themselves for their selfish motive.

Teachings of Gita have broken all those misgivings of a common man. He can also practice meditation by learning the knowledge of truth and can identify SELF as different from the material body. He can also perform Yagya through his selfless actions.
