Book Description

Foreword The Andhra Pradesh State Archives is doing commendable work in throwing new light on the State's Culture and History and in preserving historic documents. Its half-yearly journal 'Itihas' is a journal which would be useful to teachers, researchers and students in Universities and other institutions in getting acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of India. I hope 'Itihas' will try to fill the gaps in Andhra Pradesh's glorious history and civilization and bring out the integrating factors in Indian History from the valuable records at its disposal in the State Archives.

Preface I am happy to inform you that Andhra Pradesh State Archives has so far brought out successfully ten volumes consisting of seventeen issues of the journal "ITIHAS". This journal is acclaimed as one of the best Historical Research Journals by all the distinguished scholars in India and abroad. The principle object of this journal is to highlight the original source material and also to invite the latest research articles interpreting the previous topic and establish the new dimension on the subject with facts and evidences. Original source material is not centralised at one place. Therefore this journal invites the views of scholars in India and abroad on various historical subjects highlighting the original source material hidden in India and abroad. Articles of research value covering all historical aspects along with evidences are only accepted and published in this journal. We are making sincere efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Andhra Pradesh in particular and India in general for posterity by publishing these research articles in our journal. Photo copies of the places as well as original documents if any, are also published in the journal in evidence to the author's interpretations on his research subject. Andhra Pradesh State Archives is able to gather the views of eminent scholars at one place through this journal.
