Book Description
From the CD

Indian Classical music is believed to have the ability to surround the listener with the deeply calming moods of a perfect sunset. As the music pours in the space, it brings the quiet majesty and healing relaxation of nature’s most cherished moments into life. Several researches have proven that soothing music is helpful on stressful days & sleepless nights and can relieve people of tensions and stress. It regenerates body cells and pacifies the mind, creating a mind – set conducive to the treatment of the physical and mental ailments. Our sages from time immemorial have emphasized on the significance and potency of music as a healer. Doctors across the globe also testify that the sound of soothing music can alter heart and respiration rates as well as brain waves. It is this tranquil quality of Indian Classical music that makes it ideal for enhancing the experience of every day activities. It animates the environment and aids the process of wholeness and health, emanating a personal retreat each time it is played, creating positive oasis for unwinding and reviving.

Jeevan takes the listener on a journey to the heart of peace where the gentle flow of healing energy nurtures the entire life. Beautiful melodies and sensual, serene harmonies of Sarangi, Santor, Flute, Guitar and Tabla create a sacred space where one finds renewal. Raag Nat Bhairav, an intriguing amalgam of ‘Nat’ and ‘Bhairav’ has been chosen to create this serene environment. The note shuddh ‘Re’ occupies a prime position in raag ‘Nat’ which is considered to be a late evening melody. Raag ‘Bhairav’ which is a fundamental raag is distinguished in the raag ‘Nat Bhairav’ by its combination of komal ‘Re’ and komal ‘Dha’. An entirely new musical design emerges out of this juxtaposition of shuddh ‘Re’ and komal ‘Dha’. The communion of sounds generated from the three string instruments, one wind instrument, mixed with the rhythm of Tabla, soothe the heart, becoming the heartbeat of all listeners. This musical amalgam is believed to cure Indigestion, Rheumatic Arthritis and Colitis, enabling you to uplift your over all lifestyle. It nourishes your entire life, bringing succor to the anguished souls and helping you to begin the process of self – restoration and finding inner peace.

Rendered by four outstanding instrumentalists of the new generation, namely, the Grammy award winner Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, famous Santoor player Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, well – known Sarangi player Pt. Ramesh Mishra and India’s ace flautist Pt. Ronu Majumdar, this album creates healing relief in the midst of turmoil. The mingling of the contemplative meends of Bhatt and Majumdar, the pathos filled aalaaps of Mishra and the elegant strains of Santoor by Bhattacharya lull the listeners into a feeling of deep relaxation and serenity, evoking contemplative bliss, perfect for relaxation, massage or light meditation. Enter a healing sanctuary of sound wit this album and let your soul experience shelter from the storms of life.
