The Seventh Edition of the Maharashtra Registration Manual, Part I, was printed in 1974. Since then many changes have been effected in the Registration Act and Maharashtra Registration Rules. Moreover, cognizance of various High Court Orders and also new procedure introduced with a view to speedy disposal of registration of documents, needs to be taken into account.
A detailed knowledge of these Rules essential for every Registering Officers. The publication is being issued in three separate parts for public convenience and easy handling. Of these this is the First Part being published which consists of the following:
(1) The Registration Act, 1908, in its application to the State of Maharashtra.
(2) The Maharashtra Registration Rules, 1961.
(3) The Revised Table of Fees at present operative in the Maharashtra State.
(4) Numerous notifications issued under the Registration Act, and Rules made thereunder.
It is hoped that this publication would prove useful to the general public as well as Registering Officers.
