Description
Book I

Roopaka Thalam

As you all know, Roopaka thalam has 6 or 12 aksharas and is done with two beats and a wave or a beat and counting of fingers. I have presented a set of 15 simple and uncomplicated Roopaka thalam theermanams, so that even those students just beginning would find it easy. It is my endeavor to incorporate as much variation in shollukattus as possible in order that the students will become familiar with them. On closer examination you can also note the variations in karvais (Gaps) interspersed in the theermanams. I have specifically avoided theermanams either starting or ending in Arai yedam, Kal yedam, Mukkal Yedam etc. and have confined to presenting only those that start as well as finish on samam. Though the theermanams sound simple, it is equally attractive and challenging to execute. I hope they would help you learn the nuances of nattuvangam and stimulate you to move on further.

Book II

Aadhi Thalam

As you all know, Aadhi thalam has 8 or 16 or 32 aksharas and is done with chathurashra lagu and two druthams. I have presented a set of 15 simple and uncomplicated Aadhi thala theermanams, so that even those students just beginning would find it easy. It is my endeavor to incorporate as much variation in shollukattus as possible in order that the students will become familiar with them. On closer examination you can also note the variations in karvais (Gaps) interspersed in the theermanams.
