He has been actively involved in the ministry of the Bible Society of India since 2015. Having served as the President of Aizawl Auxiliary of BSI for three terms (2015-2023), He is currently serving the BSI in its Council and Executive Committee. It gives me an immense joy to see that this book entitled, A QUEST FOR A LIVING THEOLOGY is now published by the Christian World Imprints, Delhi. It is dedicated to the sweet memory of my beloved wife, Lallianpuii who had left for eternal glory on July 6th., 2016.
The book contains my theological works, such as, National and International seminar papers, addresses, Bible studies on selected themes both in the Biennial Assemblies of the Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) and North East India Christian Council (NEICC), thematic sermons which were delivered in the Annual Retreat in Aizawl Theological College (ATC) and selected devotional sermons preached in the worship services of some Theological Colleges, during the last thirty years of my theological journey.
I count it a great privilege to have had an exposure for my doctoral research in the University of Edinburgh for nine months in 1992-1993. Since my doctoral dissertation is in the area of Calvin's doctrine of God, in a seminar organized by the Centre of Christianity in Non-Western World, I was asked to present a paper entitled, 'God in the Contemporary Christian Thought.'
In the Biennial Assemblies of the Presbyterian Church of India held at Nongpoh, Meghalaya on April 16-19, 1998 and of the North East Indian Christian Council held at Champhai, Mizoram on May 11-14, 2000, I had the privilege to lead Bible Studies on the selected themes, 'Christ the Living Reality' and 'The Church, An Agent of Transformation.'
While working in the ATC as the Principal, I had the opportunity to present a paper entitled as 'Church's Participation in Theological Education' in the Seminar of the Board of Theological Education of the Senate of Serampore College (BTESSC) at Faith Theological Seminary (FTS), Manakala, Kerala on February 6, 2003. In 2004, April 1-4, I also had the privilege to have been invited to attend the International Conference on Reformed Faith in the University of Stallenbosch, Cape Town in South Africa. In that Conference, I presented a paper entitled as 'Calvin's Doctrine of God in relation to the Indian Context.' In 2009 when the Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of India organized a Consultation in commemoration of Calvin's 500th birth anniversary in the ATC, I was honoured with the opportunity to give a keynote address on the theme, 'A Theology of John Calvin: An Overview.""
During my tenure as the Dean of SATHRI from 2010-2014, I had the privilege to address two auspicious occasions, namely, the College Day of ATC in November, 2011 and Serampore College Graduation Day in April, 2012. I was also given the chance to participate as resource person in the PCI consultation held at Jowai on November, 2012 and as Guest of honour in the inaugural function of Doctoral Studies Programme at ATC on June., 2013.
As indicated in the title of the book, in all my seminar papers/addresses, Bible studies, thematic sermons and devotional sermons, readers of this book would not fail to come across a search that had been made for a living theology which would be relevant to our socio-economic, political and religious context today.
