Her main support system is often not around, leaving her to take care of her ownself, when she is in vulnerable situations. Although her partner heroically pulls her out of a major hell hole, still, many times she is left struggling for a good life without any inhibitions. She is restricted by factors governing the decisions of her life, in the name of being a good girl. This book touches upon a little on the said/unsaid rules laid for a girl in some middle class households.
