Sri Narayana Hrudayam and Sri Lakshmi Hrudayam are found in the Atharva Rahasya Uttara Bhaga as being tutored by Rishi Bharghava. The proper method is to first read Narayana Hrudayam, then Lakshmi Hrudayam and again Narayana Hrudayam. These are highly potent and capable of granting any wish. The benefits of reciting these two stotras together are:
1. Elimination of poverty.
2. Immense wealth upon reciting five times on Fridays
3. Birth of a child, which equals Sriman Narayana in Tejas, to women who chant this mantra and consume the water or milk empowered by it.
