About The Book
Tapan Bhattacharya is a retired Deputy Superintending Archaeological Engineer from the Archaeological Survey of India. He holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering and has received conservation training in structural and chemical conservation of monuments from the Institute of Archaeology, New Delhi. He also studied conservation at the University of York in the UK and has expertise in Lime Technology from the Scottish Lime Centre Trust in Charlestown, Scotland, UK. Throughout his career with the Archaeological Survey of India, Mr. Bhattacharya worked on various archaeological monuments and sites across India, including the Taj Mahal and the Sun Temple, Konark. He has also assessed damages and provided recommendations for monuments in countries like Indonesia, Myanmar and Vietnam as part of expert teams under the Cultural Exchange Program.
