The method
of Superconscious Meditation is a highly systematic and scientific one which
leads the student from his gross level of awareness to the highest and most
subtle state of consciousness. This method is not a mere technique of
relaxation but a method which makes the student aware of the whole philosophy
of life and the knowledge of the fourth state which is beyond waking, dreaming,
and sleeping. Ordinarily. all living creatures remain only aware of the three
states of mind-waking, dreaming and sleeping. With the help of Superconscious
Meditation, however, one can attain the fourth state which is called turiya. Meditation
is an inward way of fathoming all the levels of consciousness, from where
consciousness flows on various degrees and grades. It is a tradition of the
ancient sages of the Vedic period which does not oppose modern science. This
book will primarily serve the purpose of under-standing the whole process of
meditation with the complete philosophy of life. Those who are prepared to
tread the ancient path of sages will find this book very useful. Dr Usharbudh
Arya' has systematically described this method in Superconscious Meditation. I
appreciate his sincere efforts in writing this book. Dr Arya follows this
ancient path of sages and practices the discipline of meditation faithfully.
SUPERCONSCIOUS
MEDITATION In this book, Dr Arya describes how the pure tradition of
Superconscious Meditation can inspire and awaken the sincere and prepared
student and guide him or her to the ultimate goal of Self-awareness. Personally
trained in this tradition, which stems from an unbroken line of gurus from
ancient times until the present, Dr Arya is well-qualified to clarify points
students often encounter in practicing meditation. He offers specific
techniques that students can employ to deepen their meditative experience.
Mahamandaleshwara Shri Swami Veda Bharati (1933-July 14,
2015), was a rare Sanskrit scholar of our time, unsurpassed in his profound
depth of knowledge, philosophy and practice of Meditation. He was born in a
Sanskrit-speaking family and raised in the centuries old Vedic tradition. He
taught the Patanjali's Yoga-sutras for the first time at the early age of 9 and
the Vedas from age 11. Having never attended any school, he received his M.A.
from the University of London and a D.Litt. from the University of Utrecht in
the Netherlands. From 1952-1967, he spread the Yogic and Vedic teachings in
many parts of the world, including Africa and the West Indies. In 1969, he
received the highest initiations into the mysteries of Meditation from his Guru
Swami Rama of the Himalayas who linked him to the sacred lineage of the
Himalayan Yogis. Thereafter he established and guided Meditation groups and
centres in all parts of the world. He had access to 17 languages and taught
Meditation in all of the major languages of the world and to followers of all
religions.
