This rare book in English will introduce the magnificent personality of Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra, to non-Bengali readers and seekers of Truth. It will provide the reader glimpses of the rich and multiple facets of this great personality who devoted his whole life for mankind irrespective of caste, creed, social status or class. It will also help the reader to understand Thakur's Universal and Modern Philosophy of Life, applicable for all.
The book has been written in an anecdotal style to make reading interesting and enjoyable. The author has presented some significant events in a chronological manner capturing incidents from his childhood years, boyhood years, adolescence period, to the becoming of his Thakur Anukulchandra, the Guide, the Guru and Loving ideal among his devotees.
The author (lovingly and popularly known as Mani-da to me and many other Satsangees) came to Thakur when he himself was only 19 years old in 1949. He did not return back, but continued to live and serve Thakur in Deoghar as long as Thakur lived, and even afterwards.
The author was privileged to witness and experience the different facets of Thakur's personality and his work, which he has tried to capture in this books. He found in Thakur organizer, a scientist, a social reformer, a revolutionary, an author, an educationist, an intellectual and a loving guide correcting the ways of his devotees and outcasts with love and patience. This book also captures the essence of Thakur's discussions with other great personalities of his time who came to meet Thakur in Pabna and Deoghar, his views on different subjects, his ideology and also his missions.
I am sure that this valuable book in English will be a rich addition to the list of publications (though more in vernacular languages) that already exist.
