An emotion filled story of a husband and wife whose life is twined with the strands of love and hurt. Raj marries Radha the love of his life. But a letter from an unknown admirer written to his wife lights the fire of jealousy in his mind and drives him to hurt himself and Radha. His love is now laced with pain and helpless for Radha has refused to name the writer. Only a supreme sacrifice by a close friend makes Raj realize what had happened.
Sangam was Raj Kapoor’s first film in colour and was shot in foreign locales.
Dilip Kumar, was first offered finally Rajendra Kumar played the role.
Raj Kapoor and Rajendra Kumar become good friends during the making of the movie.
Rajendra Kumar had a hat trick that year (1964). Zindagi and Ayee Milan Ki Bela his two other films that year were hugely successful.
