Based on the legend of Amar Katha and the intellectual interaction between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati at Amarnath, this Urli made of brass contains Nandi and Parrot two very important aspects of the legend. As per the story, it was the Parrot who listened to the story of Amar Katha narrated by Lord Shiva when Goddess Parvati fell asleep and was reborn as Sage Shuka Dev.

The Urli having two Parrot motifs as handles and Lord Nandi statues arranged in a circle on the mouth of the Urli is a nice hint towards the story. The Urli is constructed traditionally by skilled artisans and also contains small bells under the Nandi motifs. It also has an elaborate stand to provide support in style. All over this Urli is a magnificent home decor item with an equally magnificent back story.
