The Divine Aura of a Prabhavali

This exquisite brass Prabhavali is more than just an decorative piece; it is a gateway to the divine, a symbol of auspiciousness and protective energy that has graced sacred spaces for centuries. Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, this piece captures the essence of traditional Indian artistry, radiating a timeless elegance that will enhance any home or sanctuary. The Prabhavali, often referred to as a halo or arch of light, traditionally frames the central deity in Indian iconography, signifying their divine presence and omnipotence. This particular design draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and nature's enduring beauty.

Symbolism and Craftsmanship

The intricate floral motifs adorning this Prabhavali speak of nature's bounty and the cyclical nature of life, a recurring theme in many spiritual traditions. The delicate rendering of leaves and blossoms suggests prosperity and growth. Perched at the apex and flanking the sides are charming depictions of peacocks, the national bird of India, revered for its beauty and often associated with royalty, divinity, and immortality. In Hindu mythology, the peacock is sometimes seen as the mount of Lord Kartikeya, the god of war, and its feathers are believed to ward off evil. The central face at the apex, often interpreted as a benevolent 'Kirtimukha' (face of glory), is a powerful symbol of auspiciousness and protection, said to devour all negativity and ward off evil spirits. The figures on the lower columns, possibly representing celestial beings or divine attendants, add a dynamic and sacred narrative to the overall composition. Each element is brought to life through the skilled hands of artisans, who transform raw brass into this work of art, imbued with the spirit of ancient traditions.

A Touch of Heritage for Your Space

The warm, golden hue of the brass lends a sense of warmth and sanctity. This Prabhavali is designed to be a focal point, drawing the eye and inspiring contemplation. It can be placed behind a deity's idol, a photograph, or even a mirror, to imbue the surrounding area with its positive vibrations. Imagine this piece gracing your altar, a bookshelf, or a mantelpiece, its intricate design catching the light and casting beautiful shadows. It serves as a constant reminder of the beauty and spirituality that can be found in everyday life, a piece of authentic, curated heritage that brings a touch of India's rich cultural past into the modern world. This handmade creation is not merely an object; it is a vessel of blessings, a testament to enduring craftsmanship, and an invitation to embrace the divine.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
