Very few Ganesha murtis emphasise on His humble vahana, the mushaka (mouse). In fact, Ganesha’s mushaka is rarely seen to do what vahanas do - bear (‘savari’) their Lord and Master through space and time. As such, this murti would be just the thing to add to your pooja room.

On a luxuriously upholstered mouse-drawn chariot, sits the son of Shiva and Parvati. His regal brows and the stately bearing of His chaturbhujadhari form have been deftly captured in the sculptural medium. In His anthropomorphic anatomy, there is a distinct handsomeness. Note how the gold-and-brown bitone colour scheme adds so much detail to the work.

This one-of-a-kind mushaka-savari Ganesha murti pays due importance to the vahana. It conveys life and motion; and is perfect in every detail such as tilaka, crown, and halo.

The Auspicious Ride of Lord Ganesha

Invoking the divine presence of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the bestower of wisdom, this exquisite brass statue captures the beloved deity in a moment of serene grace. Seated upon his vahana, the humble yet powerful Mushaka (mouse), Ganesha embarks on a journey, symbolizing the triumph of spirituality over the material world. The intricate craftsmanship of this piece, rendered in rich, patinated brass, speaks to the enduring artistry of Indian metalwork.

Symbolism and Divine Representation

The elephant-headed Lord Ganesha is one of the most revered deities in the Hindu pantheon, worshipped at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies as the patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom. His image is a profound symbol of overcoming challenges, of intelligence, and of auspicious beginnings. His mount, the mouse Mushaka, represents the conquest of ego and desire. The mouse, often seen as a creature of cunning and materialism, is tamed and controlled by Ganesha, signifying his mastery over earthly temptations and his ability to navigate the complexities of life with wisdom and detachment. The chariot-like platform upon which Ganesha sits, adorned with decorative wheels and ornate scrollwork, further emphasizes his regal presence and his journey towards enlightenment. The subtle yet impactful details, from the delicate carving of his tusks and trunk to the serene expression on his face, imbue this statue with a sense of divine presence and spiritual depth.

A Testament to Artisanal Excellence

This statue is more than just a religious artifact; it is a masterpiece of devotional art. Each curve and contour has been meticulously shaped by skilled artisans, who have poured their devotion and expertise into its creation. The use of brass, a metal known for its durability and lustrous quality, ensures that this divine representation will grace your home or sacred space for generations to come. The dark patina achieved through traditional methods enhances the sculptural details, lending an antique charm and a sense of timeless reverence. The base, also in brass, is intricately carved with flowing patterns, providing a stable and elegant foundation for this magnificent depiction of Ganesha.

Bringing Home Divine Blessings

Whether you are seeking to adorn your puja room, create a focal point in your meditation space, or simply wish to invite the blessings of prosperity and wisdom into your life, this Lord Ganesha statue is an ideal choice. Its commanding presence and spiritual aura will undoubtedly inspire devotion and bring a sense of peace and tranquility to your surroundings. It serves as a constant reminder of the power of intellect, the importance of overcoming obstacles, and the auspicious nature of new beginnings, all embodied in the benevolent form of Ganapati.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
