Shri Garuda, the mighty vehicle of Lord Vishnu is the eradicator of fear and curses. People are advised to worship Lord Garuda to get shielded from the evil eye, black magic, or unkind intentions of others. People with Sarpa Dosha in their birth chart are advised to chant the Gruda Mantra to eradicate the maleficent effect of the Dosha. This Garuda Statue depicts the Vahana of Lord Vishnu in a Namaskar Gesture and is carved out of wood.

The statue depicts the king of birds sitting on a lotus in a meditative posture closing his eyes and folding his hands in a Namaskar gesture. He is shown with wings that are open. He sits peacefully under a Kirtimukha Prabhavali. This wooden statue has been given a rough brown texture to bring out an antique look. The statue is well carved and holds a lot of value in terms of an art piece.

A Humble Offering

Behold a meticulously crafted wood statue depicting Garuda, the mighty avian deity, in the revered *namaskara* gesture. This traditional hand position symbolizes respect, greeting, prayer, and adoration, reflecting Garuda's unwavering devotion to his Lord. Standing at 17 inches tall, this sculpture presents a powerful presence, embodying strength and humility in equal measure. The artist's skillful hand has transformed solid wood into a work of devotional art, making it an ideal addition to any space seeking a touch of spiritual significance and aesthetic grace.

Wings of Devotion: Garuda in Hindu Mythology

Garuda holds an esteemed position in Hindu mythology as the *vahana*, or divine vehicle, of Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. Born to Vinata and the sage Kashyapa, Garuda possessed immense strength and wisdom from birth. Legend tells of his courageous quest to free his mother from bondage by retrieving the *amrita*, the elixir of immortality, from the gods. His bravery and devotion earned him a permanent place alongside Vishnu, forever soaring through the cosmos carrying his Lord. Garuda is often depicted with a mix of human and avian features, symbolizing his mastery over both realms. He is revered as a protector, dispelling negative energies and bestowing courage upon his devotees.

Artisanal Craftsmanship

The intricate details of this statue speak volumes about the skill of the artisan. Observe the gentle curve of his brow, the peaceful expression etched onto his face, and the precision with which the lotus petals upon which he sits are carved. Every line and contour serves to capture the essence of Garuda’s character, embodying strength, loyalty, and unwavering devotion. The use of wood, a natural and grounding material, further connects the sculpture to the earthly realm, creating a tangible link between the divine and the observer. The rich texture and warm tones of the wood add to the vintage aesthetic, ensuring that this piece will be a treasured heirloom for generations to come.

A Gesture of Reverence

This vintage wooden statue captures Garuda seated in a yogic posture upon a lotus base, his hands pressed together in *anjali mudra* or *namaskara*. This gesture is not just a physical posture; it's a symbol of offering, humility, and the recognition of the divine within oneself and others. Displaying this statue in your home serves as a reminder of the importance of devotion, respect, and inner peace. Let Garuda's benevolent gaze bring harmony and positive energy into your surroundings.
