Chola bronzes of Ganesha in a standing pose are symbols of the Hindu god’s alert presence and gracefulness, expressed in his firm and elegant stance.

This Panchaloha bronze presents Ganapati as Ekadanta, adorned by Tripunda on the forehead, jewelry, and a finely delineated dhoti, each element becoming artistic due to the natural luster of the metal.

Ganesha’s face is realistically sculpted, with animated eyes, that add liveliness to his poise.

The statue is placed on a two-layered lotus pedestal, with Mushaka at Ganesha’s feet, in a devotional manner that elevates the sacred aura of the sculpture.

The Elephant-Headed God: Lore and Legend

Ganesha's story is one of the most beloved in Hindu mythology. Born to Goddess Parvati, accounts vary, but many tales detail his creation as a protector. In one popular version, Parvati created Ganesha to guard her privacy while she bathed. Lord Shiva, returning home and unaware of Ganesha's identity, was prevented from entering. In a fit of rage, Shiva severed Ganesha's head. Parvati was devastated, and Shiva, realizing his mistake, promised to revive Ganesha. He instructed his followers to bring him the head of the first living being they encountered facing north. They returned with the head of an elephant, which Shiva placed upon Ganesha's body, thus restoring him to life. From this moment, Ganesha became known as the elephant-headed god, a symbol of wisdom, intelligence, and auspicious beginnings.

Four Arms of Divinity

This statue depicts Ganesha with four arms, each holding symbolic objects that represent his divine powers. The "Chaturbhuja" form, meaning "four-armed," signifies Ganesha's ability to act in multiple directions simultaneously, extending his blessings to all. Look closely to examine the symbols he holds, which represent his power and his blessings to his devotees.

Bronze Craftsmanship

Cast in bronze, also known as Panchaloha when it constitutes five metals, this statue exudes a timeless quality and a sense of permanence. The rich, warm hues of the metal are beautifully enhanced by the intricate details, capturing the essence of Ganesha's divine form. The statue's substantial size ensures it will become a focal point in any room, a reminder of the power of faith and the promise of prosperity. Observe closely the aged patina. It adds to the timelessness of this object.

Placement and Purpose

Ideal for placement in a puja room, living room, or meditation space, this Ganesha statue radiates a sense of peace and serenity. As the remover of obstacles, his presence can help create a harmonious and positive environment, fostering clarity of mind and success in all pursuits.
