The Radiant Embodiment of Compassion

This magnificent brass statue captures the serene and powerful presence of Green Tara, a revered goddess in Tibetan Buddhism. She is depicted seated in a regal posture of enlightenment, her posture a perfect testament to balance and grace. Her serene countenance, radiating a gentle smile, invites contemplation and peace. The intricate details of her adornments, from the delicate crown atop her head to the flowing silks that drape her form, speak to the masterful craftsmanship that has brought this divine image to life. —

Symbolism and Divine Attributes

Green Tara is a manifestation of enlightened activity and a powerful protector against fear and suffering. Her green hue symbolizes her boundless compassion and her ability to quickly spring into action to aid those in need. The lotus flower, blooming gracefully beside her, represents purity and spiritual awakening, a reminder that enlightenment can blossom even amidst the complexities of life. Her right hand is extended in the gesture of *varada mudra*, the boon-giving gesture, signifying her willingness to bestow blessings and fulfill virtuous wishes. Her left hand, held at her heart, is in the *vitarka mudra*, the gesture of teaching or discussion, symbolizing the transmission of wisdom and guidance. The flowing ribbons of energy emanating from her body further enhance the sense of her dynamic and active compassion, constantly reaching out to the world. —

A Legacy of Devotion and Craftsmanship

Each detail of this exquisite statue is a result of the time-honored traditions of Indian metal casting. Hand-sculpted and meticulously finished, it embodies the dedication and spiritual devotion of the artisans who created it. The rich patina of the brass lends an aura of antiquity and profound reverence, making this piece a truly captivating focal point for any spiritual space or meditation room. Its substantial size ensures a commanding presence, inviting a deeper connection with the profound wisdom and boundless compassion embodied by Green Tara. This work of art is not merely an object of beauty but a conduit to spiritual practice, a reminder of the transformative power of mindfulness and the ever-present support of the divine.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
