Crucially, Narasimha appeared at twilight, neither day nor night, on the threshold of a doorway, neither inside nor outside, and placed Hiranyakashipu on his lap, neither on land nor in the sky, and killed him with his nails, using no weapon. This fulfilled all the boons that Hiranyakashipu had received, which made him practically invincible.

Guardian Deities: Hanuman and Garuda
