A Divine Embodiment of Courage and Victory

This exquisite brass statue captures the divine form of Kartikeya, the Hindu god of war, also known as Skanda or Murugan. Revered as the commander-in-chief of the celestial armies, Kartikeya is the valiant son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, destined to vanquish the demon Taraka and restore cosmic order. This handcrafted masterpiece, made in India, is a testament to the rich artistic traditions of the subcontinent, bringing a divine aura to any space. The statue depicts Kartikeya in his majestic form, radiating power and grace. His multiple arms, a common depiction in Hindu iconography symbolizing his immense capabilities, are adorned with symbolic attributes. In one hand, he holds a spear, the 'Shakti,' his divine weapon, representing his prowess and the destruction of evil. His serene yet resolute countenance speaks of his unwavering courage and his role as the protector of the righteous. The intricate details of his attire, the ornate jewelry, and the elaborate headdress are meticulously rendered, showcasing the skill of the artisan. The presence of a peacock, Kartikeya's divine mount and vahana, at his feet, adds another layer of symbolism and aesthetic beauty to the sculpture. The peacock, with its iridescent plumage, represents beauty, pride, and the triumph of good over evil. Its inclusion signifies Kartikeya's swiftness, his ability to overcome obstacles, and his glorious victory over his adversaries. The base of the statue is equally detailed, reflecting traditional Indian craftsmanship and providing a stable and elegant foundation for the divine figure. Kartikeya is a beloved deity across India, particularly in the southern regions where he is worshipped as Murugan. Tales of his birth, his childhood exploits, and his battles against demons are central to Hindu mythology. He is invoked for courage, strength, wisdom, and protection, making this statue an ideal addition to a home altar, meditation space, or as a statement piece in a living area. The warm, golden hue of the brass lends an air of opulence and spirituality, inviting contemplation and reverence.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
