9" Three Wicks Lamp with Peacock and Serpent in Brass | Handmade | Made in India

$69
Includes any tariffs and taxes

Trimukha Deepams, or lights with three wicks, are said to provide children. They are lighted during Shanti Homa ceremonies. This brass lamp has three wicks at the end, which is typical of aarti lamps. It includes an intricate handle with a picture of a coiled vine, which was inspired by the ornamentation behind Hoysala temples' famed Salabhanjikas. Aside from these identifications, the lamp's main point is the picture of a Naga at the junction of the handle and the light. The Naga picture bestows the light with offspring and spiritual blessings. The two parrots assisting the image of Naga further solidify the concept of growth and fertility as parrots are the divine vehicle of Kama Deva. The brown and black hues make the lamp appear old.

A Symphony of Brass and Light

Elevate your sacred spaces and home décor with this exquisite three-wick brass lamp, a testament to the artistry and spiritual depth of Indian craftsmanship. Hand-cast in brass, this piece is not merely a lamp but a miniature sculpture, imbued with the rich symbolism and ancient tales that have illuminated lives for millennia. Its intricate design, featuring the majestic peacock and the powerful serpent, weaves a narrative of beauty, protection, and divine energy.

The Peacock: A Symbol of Beauty and Royalty

The peacock, revered in Indian culture, represents divine beauty, royalty, and auspiciousness. In Hindu mythology, it is the vehicle of Lord Kartikeya, the god of war, and is also associated with Goddess Saraswati, the patron of arts and knowledge. The vibrant plumage of the peacock is often depicted in art and literature as a symbol of immortality and joy. The graceful rendering of the peacock on this lamp, with its elaborate crest and poised stance, brings an aura of elegance and positivity to any setting. Its presence is believed to ward off negative energies and usher in good fortune. ––––––––––

The Serpent: A Guardian of Cosmic Energy

The serpent, or Naga, holds a profound place in Indian mythology, symbolizing cosmic energy, fertility, and eternal life. Often depicted as guardians of treasures and sacred places, serpents are associated with powerful deities. Lord Vishnu rests upon the coils of the serpent Shesha, and Lord Shiva adorns himself with a serpent around his neck. The coiled and sinuous form of the serpent integrated into the lamp's design speaks of primal strength and protection. Its presence serves as a reminder of the underlying cosmic forces and the protective energies that surround us.

Crafted for Devotion and Decor

This handcrafted lamp is designed to hold three wicks, allowing for a soft, ambient glow that can transform the atmosphere of any room. The three flames can symbolize the Trimurti – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva – the principal deities of Hinduism, or the three Gunas – Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas – the fundamental constituents of nature. Whether used for daily puja, special festivals, or simply as a decorative piece, its presence adds a touch of sacredness and refined beauty. The warm, golden hue of the brass, combined with the intricate detailing, creates a captivating visual appeal that is both timeless and contemporary.

An Heirloom of Artistic Excellence

Each lamp is meticulously handmade by skilled artisans in India, carrying forward generations of traditional metalworking techniques. The dedication to detail, from the delicate carving of the peacock's feathers to the serpentine curves, ensures that this piece is a work of art. The durable brass construction guarantees longevity, making this lamp a cherished item that can be passed down through generations, continuing to offer its warm light and symbolic resonance. It is a perfect gift for housewarmings, weddings, or any occasion that calls for a meaningful and beautiful present.
