The Shanka (conch) and the Chakra (disc) are integral to Vaishnavite iconography. This set of ritual objects made of brass is called the Sangu-Chakra thara. It is used during the abhisheka, or bathing ritual of deities. Milk and other libations are poured atop the icons through the opening on the top. It can also be classified as a spoon used in Yagyas.
