Thirteen years ago, adiyen authored a telugu book titled Vyaktitva Vikasam, comprising 54 chapters across 140 pages. Among my writings, this stands as the fifth work-intended to inspire young minds and guide them in the right direction. The teachings within were imparted to me by my revered maternal uncle, Sriman U.Ve. Kandadai Ramanujacharya Swami, during my undergraduate years. Upon completion, the work was lovingly dedicated to him. The book was released at the Seminar Hall of the Arts College in Hanumakonda, with the blessings of Srimad Raghunatha Desikacharyulu, then Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Kakatiya University. Personally, this work has brought me great satisfaction. To my surprise, six months ago, it was translated into English-Elevating the Self by Sriman Vasudeva Tatacharya, without any prompting from my side. This spontaneous act of service deeply moved me.
Another Telugu work of mine, Aanimutyaalu, was translated into English as Gems of Vaidic Wisdom by revered Acharya Penna Madhusudan. The translated manuscript of Elevating the Self was sent to Sri Penna Madhusudan for review. He graciously responded and attested that the work is free of errors. Subsequently, Sriman Devulapalli Venkateshwara Rao was requested to conduct a second-level review. He too affirmed that the work was free of errors.
Now, to my joy, the Sanskrit Academy has kindly accepted to include this work among its worthy publications.
My well-wishers Prof. K. Neelakantam (retired professor, Osmania University), Dr. K. Aravinda Rao (retired DGP of erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh), and Prof. Penna Madhusudan graciously reviewed the translation in full and offered their valuable suggestions. Adiyen offers heartfelt gratitude and pranams to all these elders and translators.
Sriman Paluri Aditya has kindly come forward to sponsor the publication of this work. He is a prominent disciple of my acharya, Sriman Maha Mahopadhyaya Kavishabdika Kesari Shastra Ratnakara Sri U.Ve. Dr. Nallan Chakravarthula Raghunathacharya Swami. Adiyen is overwhelmed to share that this work is humbly dedicated at the lotus feet of my janmadata my revered father and the jñāna janmadata, my acharya Sri Raghunatha Desika, on the auspicious occasion of the Centenary Celebrations of Sri Raghunatha Desika.
Adiyen's birthday falls on 28th October as per the Hindu calendar (janma nakshatram), and on 4th November as per the Gregorian calendar. On this occasion, I wish to release this publication. I am also delighted to share that another English book, The Fragrant Ramayana - Wisdom for Modern Minds, based on my Telugu work Sri Ramayana Sourabhamu, is soon to be published. I offer my humble prostrations to my parents, teachers, preceptors, and well-wishers.
