The Hall of Mirrors is an English translation of Sahitya Akademi award-winning collection of critical essays, Aan-e-Khane which covers a wide range of literary traditions of Kashmir from Lal Vakh to Sheikh-e-Shruki to Ghazal to Kashmiri drama to Sufi Shairi to other religious prose to contemporary Kashmiri writings. The book is a rich addition to the critical works on Kashmiri literature and its translation into English shall introduce Hajini's critical perspective to the non-Kashmiri readers.
Aziz Hajini (b. 1957) is an eminent Kashmiri writer and critic. Presently he is Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Convener of the Kashmiri Advisory Board of Sahitya Akademi. He has about twenty books to his credit, is the recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award, Sahitya Akademi Translation Prize, Khilate Shaikhul Aalam and Mir-e-Karwaan.
