In Standard Eight, you are studying the textbook of History and Civics, study of History not only helps you to understand past events but also to guide your future progress. History syllabus of standard VIII includes the historical events between how Indians fell prey to imperialist ambitions and offered intense resistance against the unjust rule. It includes events like the freedom struggle of 1857, moderate and extremist phase, Non-violant struggle led by Mahatma Gandhiji, armed revolutionary movement etc. Socio-religious reforms, movements for legible rights of farmers, women and downtrodden are also included. The lessons on sources of history and Samyukta Maharashtra Movement will definately be helpful in increasing understanding of subject.
Civics part of standard Eight you will study the system of governance created by the Constitution. You will understand about the Parliament of India, judicial system, the State Government and functioning of bureaucracy.
