Introduction
Mental Health Promotion and prevention are essential notably in reducing all sorts of negative mental health. However, while health promotion and disease prevention are universally regarded concepts in public health there is a need for strategic application regarding mental promotion and prevention are often elusive. Father more given the evidence of substantial links between psychological and physical health the non-cooperation of preventive Mental Health services is deplorable and has serious ramifications. Therefore, policy planners and health professionals must be sensitizing about the connection between psychological and physical health to effectively implement various mental health promotive and preventive interventions including all individuals, with chronic physical and mental illness. A lot of studies have suggested that individual with low level of well-being and other manifestations of positive behaviour are more likely to have mental illness. Conversely, factors that promote positive subjective and social well-being and resilience among individual produce better outcomes. Therefore, there is a need to understand the mental health concept of person in particular, and society, in general. It should be followed by carving every possible positive qualities of human being and offering the ways to increase it. In addition, we have intended to highlight various novel approaches by the paper gems collected here and discussed mental health care and their implications across different resources settings and system providing future directions. Keeping these thoughts in view the editors thought to pen and this volume, "Mental health: Promotion and prevention" was come in existence. This volume is comprised of 28 articles presented either in empirical or theoretical mode. The introductory paper of Anubhuti Dubey and Aradhana Shukla depicts the concept of mental health promotion, in brief and the introduction of the papers are presented here. In the next paper entitled," Mental health promotion and prevention: Concept and issues "Anubhuti Dubey and Aradhna Shukla have shed the light on the concept of mental promotion, prevention and issues in this regard. Punam Midha, Ritu Kaushik and Amita Garg have described the ways to promote happiness in school setting which is the need of psycho education now-a-days. Madhurima Pradhan and Shikha Anand explored their view on pain management and Madhurima Pradhan again with Jyoti Shukla described mindfulness as a tool kit for mental health promotion. Juhi Shrivastava and Kailas Nath Tripathi have presented their views on interplay of spirituality, work life balance and subjective well-being across nature of professions.
