About the Book This book is a word to word translation of 74 verses in Sanskrit composed by Swami Vedanta Desika (1268 CE-1369 CE), a well-known Sri Vaisnavite Acarya, in praise of Sri Ramanuja, the founder of the philosophy of Visistädvaita. Referred to as a saint of the heart by Swami Vivekananda, Sri Ramanuja's philosophy is woven around a personal God with all auspicious qualities and attributes. Sri Ramanuja composed a total of 9 works in Sanskrit, his 'magnum opus' being the interpretation of Sage Vyasa's Brahma Sûtra. Swami Desika was a polyglot and an author of 166 granthas in Sanskrit, Prakrit and Manipravala. He established the doctrine of Prapatti (self-surrender) as the guaranteed route to Moksa (liberation).

About the Author Gopal Srinivasan (born in 1944) is a graduate engineer by qualification and a post-graduate in Industrial Management from Bombay University. As an Industrial Manager by profession, he was on the Board of Directors of Guest Keen Williams Ltd. (GKW) from 1988 till 2019. He was also a Consultant to Powmex Steels Division of Graphite India Ltd, Kolkata. He learnt the chanting of Swami Vedanta Desika's Sanskrit and Tamizh stotra at a very early age from his Father.
