With this book that you are holding in your hands you are embarking on an adventure...
...like when you throw a pebble into a calm lake and it begins to create circular ripples that spread out
...like when a beam of light passes through a prism and is dispersed into the colours of its spectrum...
...like when you follow the thread of Ariadne
...like the question in zen philosophy of whether the bridge is moving or the river...
...simple, isn't it?
When you are in a dark room, you learn to make one simple move: to press the switch and turn on the light.
ANDREAS DRITSAS, having spent his childhood in various parts of Greece and gaining experiences from various places of our country, with a temperament by nature focused on social and humanitarian issues, Andreas Dritsas came to Omilos Eksipiretiton in 1984, bringing with him a long history of acting for the common good, higher university studies of a postgraduate level and professional experience as a senior executive in his field. Just four years later, enchanted by the work of Omilos and the teaching of its founder, he and his wife requested to become Heads of Omilos, taking upon themselves the responsibility, the care, the supervision and the actualisation of literally every aspect of the function, action and expression of Omilos, always emphasising the function of the group. He has done countless personal appointments, groups and discussions with both members and non-members of Omilos in Greece and abroad, and since 2015 he has been the President as well as the Head of Omilos. He has given interviews and speeches at cultural and other presentations and events, while also creating and structuring the group of Omilos in Istanbul and the Association ""The Servers' Society UK"" in London. Every two to three months, he travels abroad to meet with the members of Omilos there, as well as for various groups, day conferences, speeches on spirituality in everyday life, cultural events, meetings with academics, He is married and has one child.
This book was not written. This book was literally said, dis-cussed, talked about. It is spoken word, alive, direct, because each one of its chapters is a speech or a discussion that took place in a group, a presentation, an event or a seminar of Omilos. It refers to topics that were neither predetermined nor scheduled, but arose each time through the flow of the group and from the need that existed in all those who participated.
Each chapter is addressed to all of us together but also to each one of us individually, so that through its pages the reader can become part of all that is unfolding, as if they were present and part of the discussion when it first took place, to the degree, of course, that this is possible. There is no need for someone to agree or disagree, to accept or reject, to understand or not understand something. Very simply, as they read, they might see a different way of approaching everyday life, and if they find something that ""works for them"", as we say, to take it with them, if they consider that it can help them improve their life and be better.
The topics are analysed through the practical philosophy and teaching of Omilos Eksipiretiton, as it has been given and actualised since its founding in 1980. The writer-speaker, President and Head of Omilos, constantly present and participating since 1984 in every aspect of the work of Omilos down to the last detail, speaks to each and every one of us with directness and simplicity, conveying only one thing: his own personal experience of what spirituality in practice means.
In the various chapters of this book, incentives for thought, for broadening and deepening are given, but mainly each chapter, and the book in its entirety, challenges us to believe in ourselves and to express the potential that exists within us directly, simply and practically in every area of our life. As the reader goes through this book, they will encounter concepts such as ""knowledge and discipleship of the Self"", ""spiritual person"", ""the Master"", ""the Entity"", ""union"", ""spiritual healing"", ""grounding"". Even if some-one is seeing them for the first time, all of them are explained and clarified in the flow of the word and through the vivid examples that are given.
After all, if we were to say that this book has an aim, this would be to keep the door open for anyone who wants to admire the ""mir-acle of the miracle"", the Human Being and Life!
