During the last few decades the study of skin (dermatology) has made such tremendous progress that now almost any skin disease can be cured provided the patient receives the right drugs, the correct dosages and appropriate duration of treatment. Under the present circumstances, therefore, if a person still continues to suffer form a skin disease, then either the patient or the dermatologist is responsible for the suffering. Written mainly to disseminate correct information to the public, this book provides guidelines on proper care of the skin and hair in health and in disease. It also includes information about the common skin diseases and the treatment modalities which the patient should know.
J.S. Pasricha (Dr.), who recently retired as Professor and Head, Department of Dermatology and Venereology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, has written 14 books on dermatology and has developed several treatment methods for curing certain skin diseases which are still considered incurable. He is the recipient of 'Dermatologist of the Millennium' award for the year 2000.
Ranji Gupta (Dr.), currently a consultant dermatologist at the Escorts Heart Institute and VIMHANS, has published more than 50 papers and authored and co-authored four books on dermatology.
