About The Book
Stories for Children - I is a handbook for children to inculcate values in their life. Incidents illustrating lofty values from the lives of Abraham Lincoln, Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India, Saint Ramana Maharishi, Shivaji, Michael Faraday, Mahatma Gandhi, etc will help children to emulate the morals in their lives. There are three ways or processes of conceptualisation and they have to be made according to the context in order to enable children to absorb the lessons contained in these stories vividly: Dramatisation (Role Play), Picturisation (Sense Perception) and Verbalisation. Teachers can themselves be a participant in the role play and while picturising a story, the teacher should get the assistance of an artist, if necessary. These inspiring stories are categorised as stories which are easy to understand and the ones which are difficult to understand. The stories in the book are grouped in the order of difficulty and graded for three years of study (II, III and IV Standards) accordingly.
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has taken up on Himself, as part of His divine mission, the nurturing and grooming of the youngones to bring about a moral revolution that can ensure a peaceful world. Children are the future nation-builders and when their hearts are soaked in human values and the culture of the land, peace and order in the world are bound to happen. Towards achieving this end He has graciously started the Bal Vikas for fostering of the human values even as they grew in their own faith and culture. His divine discourses invariably abound in parables and stories drawn from the epics and the life history of great men and saints who valued the cardinal human values as their very life breath. This book namely, Stories for Children Part II, is primarily meant for the age group of 9 to 12 years. It contains stories from the Ramayana and the Mahabharatha, besides others based on human values, and stories told by Jesus Christ. There is also an introduction giving guidance to Bal Vikas Gurus.
