This book is a collection of eleven articles on Bangla and its relationship with other languages like Sanskrit, Tamil, Malayalam etc. The articles selected were presented in the seminar "Commonness and Divergences in Bengali and Dravidian" held in Thiruvananthapuram on 28th March 2014 and in the special session on Bengali and Dravidian at the 42nd All India Conference of Dravidian Linguists, Kuppam from 19th to 21st June, 2014. Out of the 23 articles selected for publication, twelve articles were already published in the book 'Studies on Bangla and Dravidian'. The rest which are also immensely beneficial to linguists and language learners are included in this volume. I thank the editors who painstakingly edited the manuscripts and improved them with meticulous attention. Dr. K. N. Geetha Kumari and Shri Dhrubajyoti Das have extended their unfaltering co-operation at all stages of its publication. I am grateful to the Dawn Press for the neat execution of this book. The book is presented to the academic world with full confidence that it will be received wholeheartedly by the academic fraternity.
