Q1. Why Vishnu is painted blue?

In the dhyana-shloka of Bhagwan Vishnu, the preserver Hindu god is described to have a cloud-colored or “Megha Varnam” skin. The richness of rain-filled Megha or clouds signifies Sri Vishnu’s infinite abilities as the nurturer of the universe, an attribute which is best presented through the color blue, which also symbolizes the measureless blue sky and waters of the ocean.

Q2. What makes Vishnu unique?

There exists a vast corpus of Hindu texts that glorify the powers of Sri Vishnu, the second member of the Hindu trinity on whose shoulders rests the balance of the entire creation. While the other two deities out of the Trideva or three gods- Brahma and Shiva rarely descend on the earth for longer periods, Bhagwan Vishnu who is the supreme paternal entity in Brahma’s Srishti (creation) comes on the earth in his 10 incarnations or Dashavatara, to ensure smooth functioning of the laws of nature and annihilate the forces of evil.
