Building on the beauty of everyday and mundane life, this handmade wood-framed painting of a lady with her mistress is a magic portal to transfer you to the exoticness of rural and traditional India.
Identifying the place of this scene as the interior of a house in an Indian village, the background of the painting shows ethnic motifs painted on the dark wall. In the center of the painting are two beautiful damsels, adorned in the most appealing traditional Indian apparel- Ghaghra (skirt), choli (blouse), and chunri (scarf) embellished by lovely folk patterns. From their placement and demeanor in the painting, it is clear that the women, probable friends, are engaged in a conversation.
