The zenith of floral youth captured in this gorgeous green watercolour. Luscious tender coconuts dangling from a verdant branch. Two of them are in full view in the foreground; their soft, round forms painted a rich, irresistible yellow-green. A hyper-realistic detail would be the sunlight glistens against the convex bulge of the fruit.
A total of five tender coconuts are visible in this painting. It is a fruit of sacred importance, indispensable to ritual worship in Hinduism. The beauty of this composition lies in the fact that it captures the tender coconut at exactly that stage when it is apt for such purposes.
The background is a pearly verdant mess. Suggestive of mist and more verdure in the background. Delicate tendrils cascade upon the bodies of the tender coconuts, accentuating the thick flesh of the succulent branch from which they dangle. The coconut tree is a tall plant with a beautiful canopy, which in itself is considered highly aesthetic and auspicious.
