18" Standing Lord Narasimha in Blessing Gesture | Bronze Statue

$1202

An embodiment of Vishnu’s powers as an active and potent (Teevra) preserver, Narasimha avatar is a ferocious and benevolent Hindu god.

In this bronze statute, Sri Narasimha appears in Sampadasthanaka pose, with both legs joined together, a posture of stability and aliveness, that represents the alertness of the Lord.

A Kiritamukuta crown and finely curving mane frame Narasimha’s roaring face, which despite its fierceness, conveys graciousness to his devotees.

The statute has been sculpted in a rounded manner to allow the devotee to circulate and worship the icon, complete with the sacred Vaishnava attributes-Shankah and Chakra, and gestures of Abhaya and Varada, conveying the benign presence of Sri Narasimha.

The Ferocious Protector

This stunning bronze statue depicts Lord Narasimha, the fourth avatar of Vishnu, in a powerful yet benevolent stance. Narasimha, a being neither fully human nor fully animal, emerges at twilight to protect his devotee, Prahlad, from the tyranny of his demon king father, Hiranyakashipu. The intricate details of the statue capture the raw strength and compassionate nature of this unique deity. Notice the majestic lion's head atop a human body, complete with fearsome fangs and a determined gaze. Two of his hands bear the Sudarshana Chakra (discus) and the conch, signifying his divine power and auspiciousness. The other two are presented in the Abhaya Mudra, a gesture of reassurance and blessing. This is a symbolic representation of divine protection and courage. This piece reflects a profound devotion to Vishnu, who manifests in this fearsome form to restore Dharma.

Crafted in Bronze

Cast in bronze, or Panchaloha (a traditional alloy of five metals), this statue holds both aesthetic beauty and spiritual significance. Bronze is a revered material in Indian art and spirituality, believed to conduct energy and hold a resonant quality. The craftsmanship of this piece is evident in the fine details of the ornaments adorning Narasimha's body, the meticulously carved facial features, and the texture of his garment. The statue's size makes it ideal as a centerpiece for a personal altar, a meditation space, or as a meaningful addition to a collection of sacred art. With its commanding presence and spiritual depth, this representation of Lord Narasimha will become a cherished object.
