Bride to Lord Vishnu and the most prominent saint elevated to the status of Goddess in Southern India, Andal is popularly considered an incarnation of Bhudevi. Celebrated for her devotion and love towards the divine, she composed the classic Tamil works of Thiruppavai and Nachiyar Tirumoli. Made in Panchaloha bronze, this idol of Andal stands in a Tribhangi over a mandal-like plinth. Adorned with jewelry, she wears a garland around her neck as a parrot rest on her hand and the bun tied to the side is a centuries-old Tamil hairdo. Andal embodies what many seek today - the Feminine visibility and agency, flowing from spirituality.

A Divine Vision of Andal
