Vishnu, in the guise of a dwarf Brahmin named Vamana, appeared before Mahabali and requested a humble boon: three paces of land to call his own. Mahabali, ever generous, agreed. Vamana then miraculously expanded to cosmic proportions, covering the heavens and the earth with two steps. When asked where he would place his third step, Mahabali, recognizing the divine, offered his own head. Vishnu's foot on Mahabali's head signifies the ultimate surrender and the triumph of dharma over ego, a timeless lesson in humility and divine justice. ––––––––––––––––––
