The Academy of Sanskrit Research with its primary focus on bringing out critical editions of works related to Bhagavad Rāmānuja has published several books of true value. Apart from its main activity of research and publication, it also conducts National/State level Seminars, Workshops and Conferences on special topics/subjects quite regularly. The proceedings of the seminars containing insightful thoughts of invitee experts have also been brought forth as reliable materials.
Śrī Rāmānuja, born in the eleventh century AD, was a great apostle of a participative society and social equality. His concern for social cause had no boundaries. The impact of his teaching on the society; his temple administrative skills, his philosophical treatises and his compassion for the downtrodden are all but a few mile stones in his pursuit of the Supreme truth. His genuine effort in eradicating discrimination of caste and creed would be cherished. According to Śri Rāmānuja, God is attainable by anyone irrespective of privilege of one's birth but only by unconditional love and devotion for Him.
This book titled 'Managerial ability of Śri Rămănuja' is based on papers presented in a seminar held earlier on the same theme. I am happy to extend my heartfelt thanks to Vid. S. Kumara, Registrar, ASR Melkote, for his splendid efforts in organizing the seminar and also in publishing the book. I also wish to congratulate one and all for their part in making this endeavor a success.
It is our pleasure to place seminar proceedings Managerial Ability of Bhagavad Ramanuja at the hands of learned readers.
Our Acaryas were not only religious practitioners, they were leaders of nation as well. They lead the nation by their wisdom, thoughts and directions given to rulers of the time. They built the characters of people by being high examplers themselves. Apart from this, they took challenges to make the Dharmic way of life a movement across the nation. They travelled across the length and breadth of nation to motivate people. They had to establish Dharmic centers across the nation for the propagation of Dharma. They had to manage these institutions properly. They had the techniques of management ready for this purpose. Using age old and newly invented techniques and methods they could run the show for thousands of years.
Bhagavad Ramanujacharya is a good example of such brilliant manager of Dharmic Instructions. Hence a national level seminar was organised to showcase the managerial ability of Ramanujacharya by ASR in Melkote in October 2015. Eminenr scholars had presented their papers on different aspects or Ramanujacharya's management theory. It is getting published as book at this juncture. I also thank Vid. R. Narayana Iyengar for his editorial efforts. I thank Smt. M.B. Bharati for her DTP work.
I extend my thanks to all those involved in the work of printing, front page designing and binding.
I once again welcome our readers to share their feedback about this edition.
