About the Book Veda is the ocean of knowledge. These are not historic books consisting of events. To understand the divine speech in the form of Vedas one has to go through them. Vedas are unique epics of knowledge. The Vedas are a storehouse of infinite knowledge. They are the divine knowledge. They are not the books of history dealing with incidents. The other-worldly voice of God, enshrined in the Vedas in the form of knowledge, can be comprehended only through the Vedas, for they confer a divine eye to see and understand it. The Vedas are an epitome of knowledge, with no parallel to them in the whole world.

Foreword The voice of God, the ultimate truth, has been compiled in the Vedas. The Vedas are the perennial storehouse of our ancient Indian culture. Our saints, through the ages after deep thought and study of the cosmic mysteries, have compiled the true knowledge in the Vedas. Devoting their entire lives in the search of these deep mysteries, they strengthened the foundations of Indian traditions, culture and manners. Many scholars of the world have also studied these deep mysteries and developed their respective countries. Whatever be the field-say medicine, diagnosis or treatment. cosmogony or astronomy or literature-they have derived full advantage from the ascetic practice of the Indian Rishis, and are adopting it even today. Scholars of various countries are studying them and moving forward or progressing. But the common Indian has not been able to grasp even a part of this collection of the deep secret due to his facing difficulty in understanding or intractability of the Vedas. If they are exposed to the Vedic culture at school and college level compulsorily, it will kindle in them a taste for acceptance and development of the Indian culture. In brief, the Vedas are that storehouse of knowledge which, if a man enters to study, he will emerge with the knowledge of Brahma, bringing about his own salvation as well as of others. Keeping this in view, we have tried to present the knowledge of the Vedas in simple diction and style. It is expected that the book will prove educative, interesting and useful to the readers.
