Siva The 'Mahadev' is the God of all Gods and Goddesses. He is called God-Dev, as deva-di-dev, that is why he is 'Mahadev'. He is major deity of 'Hinduism' revered as the supreme being by Shaivites cult.
Siva is known as great ascetic and the master of fertility and embodying the cydical natural of creation and destruction. He is destroyer known as 'time'-(kaal). In same time he is 'Śadasiva' Trimurti (Brahma-Vishnu & Mahesh), Destroyer, Symbol of Power, Shaivism (Supreme Being), Multiple faces 'Mahasada-Siva' and have numerous forms, such as 'Adiyogi' the first Yogi of all origin form of yogic practices, Benevolent protector, Śiva is also known for many names at least 1008 names which is mentioned in my other book of Śiva 1008 Name of Šiva. He is a 'cosmic dancer' the dance of energy 'Nataraja'. Not only all these great things but he is known as the house holder husband of Parvati Father of Ganesha & Kartikeyya, one side he is Rudra (Destructor) other side he is 'Bholenath' the most calm and innocent personality. There is no finding of thy presence in the universe - He is beyond the nature, sky, he remains an enigma. He is BRAHMGYANI.
